Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Athens (E.B.E.A)
Our company performed the architectural – structural – electromechanical designs and was in charge of the project management for the partial renovations of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (E.B.E.A.) at Akadimias Street in downtown Athens, with total built-up area of 2.500,00 square meters. We won a design competition held by the government with a goal to best interpret the Chambers needs. Indeed, our architects working on the project focused their attention on these very aspects. This led to the optimization of the existing elements with help from our complementary additions and interventions. The planning decisions that we initially made, were then further verified by the just described context of the buildings functionality and the organization chart given to us. We
focused on the functional redesign of the inner spaces and the technical areas, which have been transformed in order to accommodate the new needs in hand, emphasizing the profile and character of the organisation. We also reshaped the surfaces with fixtures that follow a new design sharing much of the light colored wood finish of the main hall, that eventually expands in the entire building.
